European promotional tour to miss the UK
It has been confirmed to Janet Love that Janet’s upcoming European promotional tour will not take in the UK. As UK fans will know, both music shows that Janet made regular appearances on have stopped. The BBC’s Top of the Pops and ITV’s CD:UK were habitual stops for Janet on her previous promotional tours yet it is primarily down to their disbanding that Janet will not visit the UK on this occasion.
So far, confirmed stops on her European tour include:
France: where Janet will perform at a free concert for radio station NRJ.
Germany: where Janet will perform on TV show TV Total.

Janet on Oprah and the Today Show
Virgin Records today confirmed that Janet will appear on Oprah on September 26th and on The Today Show on September 29th. Janet’s performance on The Today Show will be at the Rockefeller Plaza and they advise fans to arrive by 7am.
The video for So Excited will receive its world premiere on BET’s Access Granted on September 13th.

Virgin Records today confirmed to Janet Love that 20 Y.O. will receive its premiere on BET.com. The date is yet to be finalised but as soon as we know, it’ll be on Janet Love.

‘So Excited’ released to radio today
In a press release issued this morning, Virgin Records officially announced the release of So Excited to radio as well as celebrating Janet’s 30th Top 10 single with Call On Me.

NEW YORK, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ — With its Number 9 position, “Call On Me,” has become Janet Jackson’s 30th Top 10 single on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The R&B superstar is now tied with R. Kelly for scoring the most Top 10 singles since Billboard began deriving chart information from Nielsen SoundScan data in 1992.
Since then, Janet has had 15 chart-topping hits to Kelly’s 11, and seven consecutive Number One’s, including “That’s The Way Love Goes,” “Again,” “Any Time, Any Place/And On And On,” “Together Again,” “I Get Lonely,” “Doesn’t Really Matter,” and “All For You.”
The breezy, laid-back “Call On Me,” featuring St. Louis hip-hop star Nelly, is the lead-off single from Janet’s upcoming album 20 Y.O., which will be released by Virgin Records on September 26th. The second single from the album, “So Excited,” featuring rapper Khia, will be released to radio today. Dupri premiered the track on his radio show on Atlanta’s V-103 last weekend. Janet began shooting the video for the song in Los Angeles on August 23rd with noted director Joseph Kahn, who also directed her clip for “Doesn’t Really Matter.”
20 Y.O. marks the anniversary of Janet’s career-making 1986 album, Control, re-teaming her with her original collaborators, legendary hit-makers Jimmy “Jam” Harris and Terry Lewis, and Grammy-Award winner Jermaine Dupri.
