Janet appeared on T4 today performing Just A Little While and gave a short interview. Unfortunately we were unable to record it but we’re hoping another UK Janet fan will be able to send us a copy (nudge nudge, wink wink!)

When speaking to Janet’s choreographer today, Gil Duldulao said that her upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live is set to be electric and will be remembered for a long time! In addition, he said that they have five songs to pick from and will most likely be performing at least three.

I’ve just returned from seeing Janet perform Just A Little While live at CD:UK. It was amazing. Here is my story:

I arrived at the studios early armed with the fanbook in which over 300 people had left messages for Janet. In August 2001 when I met her in New York I also presented her with a similar book. Soon after I arrived at the studios, Janet’s blacked out car also arrived. Security huddled round and she stepped out. I shouted: “JANET!”. She stuck her hand in the air and waved and then disappeared.

Whilst queuing outside the studios waiting to go inside, Gil stepped outside for a cigarette. A friend and I went up to chat to him and I said “Gil, can you please give this fanbook to Janet?” He kindly obliged and took it inside.

When we got inside the studio, the atmosphere was buzzing. As a live TV show everything has to be precise and right first time and there is no room for error. Then we were told that Janet would be doing ANOTHER performance after the live show for use in an upcoming episode!

About half way through the show, Janet came on stage. She was looking AMAZING! She looked over and was blowing us kisses. The performance started – it was magical. Then she walked over to our side of the stage and held our hands while dancing (you’ll see me in the videoclip dancing and singing my head off!). Then later on in the performance she looked at me and realised that it was me who had given the fanbook. She said “HEY!” and walked over and was singing TO ME!! At the end of the performance, she came back over and was shaking hands with people!

After the live show, she did another performance that was equally as good!

Janet DEFINITELY knows about the site now and is in posession of the fanbook that we created for her!

Janet is tonight recording a performance of Just A Little While for the Ant and Dec Saturday Night Takeaway. It will be a pre-record that is scheduled to air on April 10th in the UK.

The Raft interviewed Janet last night at her London album launch:

Home House, with its high ceilings, chandeliers, 18th century furniture and pure elgance is a great setting to hear the album – and hear the album we did!

‘Damita Jo’ kicks off even more upbeat than Janet’s last album release and keeps the vibe throughout the album. ‘The Way Love Goes’ pops into your head on first hear, which aint no bad thing! The first half of the album is very beats driven with the melodies quite subtle (so you just know you are gonna get something new every listen!)

Current American all star Kayne West first guests on track 5 -‘My Baby’ and raps his way in answer to Janet’s melodies with aplomb with plenty of groove get the dancefloor rising. He is the hottest rnb producer/rapper in the world right now, combined with the superstar that is Janet Jackson, then we are talking about a seriously HOT partnership!

Track 7 ‘Spending Time With You’ is the first track that springs out in terms of possible singles – Jasper put this to Janet towards the end of the evening :

Jasper – ‘Spending Time With You’ is really hooky and obvious contender for the second single?

Janet – “Well it’s a bit early to say yet, ‘Just a Little While’ is still to be released yet so it may be jumping the gun slightly. But thanks anyway!

Jasper – Which track was the most fun to work on during the recording of the album?

Janet – Actually it was a track called ‘Ruff’. This didnt end up on the album but we had such a laugh making it. I’m sure it will become a B-side in the future but we’ll have to see!

Track 12 ‘I Want You’ is so full of bounce you hear it practically jumping out of the stereo and then finally there’s the single that closes the album track 22 ‘Just a Little While’.

Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills talked today about his attendance at the London album launch party last night. Hear about how he clammed up when he met Janet plus what people think of Janet’s new song at Janet Multimedia now.

The New York Times reports that Janet will appear on Good Morning America “sometime towards the end of the month”. An ABC executive said that it will instate a five second delay for Janet’s performance.

Janet recorded an interview at the MTV UK studios yesterday in Camden, London. TRL UK host Dave Berry asked Janet many “probing” questions and it will air soon on MTV UK. See the small photos below of Janet outside the MTV studios.
