Tonight Grammy’s show will see Janet in the running for Best Contemporary Album with her latest 20 Y.O. But Janet isn’t the only of her former touring group that is up for a Grammy. Remember Rebecca Valadez, backing singer on the Velvet Rope Tour? She’s in the running for best Tejano album with her self-titled album. Good luck to both.

Janet was at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party last night held at the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel. Janet attended with boyfriend Jermaine Dupri and friend Gil Duldulao. Other guests at the party included Mary J. Blige, Nelly, Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Tyra Banks, Bow Wow, Pink, Lisa Marie Presley, Naomi Campbell, Al Gore, Jon Voight and Lionel Richie.

Tour to start at the end of May
Janet’s choreographer and friend Gil Duldulao has confirmed in a post to his personal blog that Janet’s upcoming tour will start on the West Coast at the end of May. There has yet to be an official announcement regarding tour dates or ticket prices but they are expected shortly.
On Janet’s official MySpace page, fans can now watch Episode 9 of Janet’s MySpace journal. It features Janet dancing and styling the kids for the So Excited video as well as Janet and her troupe visiting a bar after their performance at the Billboard Music Awards in December.

Tour dates due soon
Janet’s long-time friend and choreographer Gil Duldalao has set up his very own blog in which he hints at an announcement being made shortly regarding tour dates. Whilst he doesn’t give a specific date, he says that “the tour dates will be out in love” which is believed to be a hint that they will be published on February 14th.

Janet and her complicated shopping trip
Janet’s recent interview with V Magazine has yielded funny yet interesting facts about her trips out with pals.
She is reportedly the ninth most successful pop artist on the planet, with a £75 million fortune, but does that really excuse not knowing what a supermarket trolley is?
Janet Jackson is apparently so detached from reality that, while out shopping with r’n’b pal Missy Elliott, she thought a trolley – or cart as it is known in the US – was a scooter and rode it down the aisles.
The 40-year-old was also stumped by a ‘square thing’ at the checkout – the chip and Pin credit-card reader.
In fact, she did not even know you could pay by credit card at a supermarket.
Jackson told V Magazine: ‘I haven’t set foot in a grocery store in years. And that’s so embarrassing.
‘I kept going “What’s this?”. First of all I had the cart and I was riding down the aisles, standing on it. And we got to the checkout and there’s this square thing and I’m like, “What’s this, you guys?”.
‘They said, “That’s so you can use your credit card”.
‘And I said, “You can use your credit card in grocery stores now?” Missy just cracked up laughing.’

Janet’s performance at last night’s Billboard Awards saw her return to where she first started out – at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. When Janet was just seven years old she appeared on stage there with her brothers in what was her first ever stage appearance.
Last night Janet performed Pleasure Principle and So Excited to open the show.

So what’s happening with me. Well, I’ve been in extensive rehearsals 4 my upcoming appearance on the 2006 Billboard Awards. The kids and I have been working non-stop to give u a show-stopping performance – mixing a little old and new. The show airs live from Vegas on December 4th, so please tune in, u won’t want to miss it.
Right after Billboard, we’re going to start extensive rehearsals for my 2007 World Tour. Its going to be a retrospective of my 20 years and u know the choreography is going to be crazy! I’m excited about the ideas Gil & I have come up with and I can’t wait to hit the road!
