Janet talks to AJ from Extra on the set of her new movie, “Why Did I Get Married?”, in an interview filmed recently. In it Janet is seen filming scenes from the film in which she plays a psychologist who counsels her friends on their relationships. She also receives a cake for her upcoming 41st birthday.

According a message on Jermaine Dupri’s MySpace page, a new Janet track will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie Rush Hour 3 starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
The soundtrack, to be released on Island Records, will be the first time Janet’s music has been used for a movie since Nutty Professor 2 in 2000.
No further details have yet to be released and no date has been set for the soundtrack release, but presently the film is scheduled for August 10th 2007.
In a message posted to his website today, Tyler Perry has confirmed that shooting on his latest project featuring Janet is now complete. In it, he also states that the film “Why Did I Get Married?” is now scheduled for release in October 2007. Previous announcements put a release date somewhere around February 2008.

Can I tell you that I love Jill Scott? That is the kind of woman that can smile and end a war. Really she is unbelievable. And Janet Jackson has to be the most professional superstar that I have ever worked with. She was the first one there and the last one to leave–always on time and no drama. These women put it down! I’ll talk more about the rest of the cast later, but this was the best time that I have had making a movie yet. We’re looking to release it in October of this year.
As previously reported, Janet appeared at the Ebony pre-Oscars award ceremony on February 22nd. Prior to receiving her award, Ebony played a video compilation of her greatest achievements which you can see below.

Janet is reported to be starring in an upcoming movie alongside Tyler Perry, Jill Scott and Sharon Leal. The film, based on the Perry’s stage play of the same name, will be called “Why Did I Get Married?”.
According to Variety Magazine, the fourth film in Perry’s lucrative franchise revolves around a couple who go away with friends every winter to examine their marriages in a group setting. One of the wives brings along a sexy young temptress who causes plenty of trouble for the couples.
Perry is writing, directing and producing for Lionsgate and the film starts shooting on March 5th in Whistler, British Columbia; Vancouver and then Atlanta.
Janet appeared at the pre-Oscar Ebony party last night alongside brother Jackie. Janet was honoured at the event and is pictured giving a short speech. Others in attendance included Halle Berry and Jimmy Jam.
Janet was at a party sponsored by Hennesey last night to celebrate the launch of the latest edition of Giant Magazine featuring Jennifer Hudson. The party, held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, was attended by other celebrities such as Jamie Foxx, Marques Houston, Serena Williams and Vivaca Fox. Janet attended with choreographer Gil Duldulao.
Despite rumours that dates for Janet’s upcoming tour would be released on Valentine’s Day, this has not taken place. In a new posting to his blog, choreographer and friend Gil Duldulao hinted that the release of the dates and perhaps even the tour itself will be postponed due to matters getting caught up in red tape. Despite not winning a Grammy last night, Janet put in an appearance at boyfriend Jermaine Dupri’s ‘Atlanta Invasion’ party. The party that took place at the Pacific Theatre in Hollywood saw guests such as P Diddy, Naomi Campbell, Nelly, Johnta Austin, Ne Yo, Nicole Scherzinger and Quincy Jones in attendance. Janet was photographed with her favourite bottled water, Fiji.
