Janet Jackson celebrated her 36th year with a bawdy birthday bash at a secret spot in South Beach last weekend. We hear Jackson hired a harem of nude go-go girls and guys to shake their things in front of blushing bold-facers like Missy Elliott, Jermaine Dupri and songbird Ashanti, who performed at the party. The invites were sent to A-list guests on compact discs, with Dupri leaving a phone number for partygoers to call to learn the location.
Many of you have emailed us asking whether the UK version of the DVD will play in your DVD player. The DVD will be encoded as ‘Region 0’ which means it is not for a specific region. However, its output is in PAL and therefore, if your television is not PAL compatible, there may be a chance that the picture will only be in black and white. Both CDNOW and TOWER RECORDS have removed their listings for the VHS and DVD of the Hawaii show. The concert, which was due to be released on July 16, will most likely have its release date rescheduled. At the moment, we are not sure whether it will be brought forward or pushed back, but we are contacting the distributors at the moment.
Word spreads quickly when we have an exclusive! Not only was the Hawaii DVD cover featured on Yahoo! news just a day after we put it up, but now they are reporting the Kylie link. They talk about how Janet really likes Kylie’s album and Janet Love gets a nice mention.You can read the article here.

Once again, Janet is in this week’s UK heat magazine. It seems that they always try to squeeze her in the mag one way or another and this week it’s to do with her birthday. Click on the image to read what they think the future holds for her in her starsign. Heat magazine (recently voted Magazine of the Year) comes out every week on Tuesday and is a reliable source of celebrity information and news. Unlike some, it is not a tabloid and is available in most UK newsagents.
We have finally got our hands on a copy of the photo of Matthew and Janet outside a restaurant after MTV:icon last month. Janet seems to be shying away from the attention. Bless her!
Janet is featured in the magazine found on Virgin Voyager trains in the UK. Additionally, on the train music channels, you can find Son Of A Gun (with Missy) and All For You. All you need to do is plug your headphones into the socket and follow the instructions in the journey magazine.
