It’s not at all Janet related, but it’s something that I wanted to post because at the moment I’m extremely proud to be British! The last few days have seen an amazing celebration throughout Britain and the entire Commonwealth. Queen Elizabeth II has been the monarch of Britain for 50 years and has never faltered. The celebrations have been amazing and people from all over the world including America, South Africa, Australia and Europe have travelled to Britain to be a part of the festivities. Janet Love has encoded two of the songs from the Hawaii concert. You will have seen them, but these are two slightly different versions! In “Come On Get Up”, different camera angles are used and in “Alright”, an extended Quick Change is shown and the song is edited a lot so that it is made shorter. Janet appeared at last night’s Essence Awards at the Universal Amphitheater in Universal City, California. She was presented with the “Readers’ Choice for Entertainer of the Year” award by professional wrestler/actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The above images can be made bigger by clicking on them whilst the ones below are just thumbnails.

Did you know that the “JANET” logo shown on the curtain during the Hawaii show was different from the rest of the tour? The logo used throughout the entire leg was in fact yellow, but when it came to the Hawaii filming, it was thought that the yellow would not show up well enough on camera and so was changed to black.

{{popup buckpalace.jpg Buckingham Palace, London 800×600}}Although not Janet related, Janet Love is taking a break from its news section to give Her Majesty The Queen all our best wishes for her GOLDEN JUBILEE this weekend. Born in London on 21 April 1926, she came to the throne in 1952 and has been there ever since.

Britain will be marking her 50 years at the throne with several celebrations. A concert, in the grounds of Buckingham Palace on Monday evening will feature many celebrities paying tribute to Her Majesty. These include: Dame Shirley Bassey, Tony Bennett, Blue, Emma Bunton, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Phil Collins, The Corrs, Aretha Franklin, Tom Jones, Sir Elton John, Annie Lennox, Ricky Martin, Mis-teeq, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Cliff Richard, Ozzy Osbourne, S Club 7, Rod Stewart, Brian Wilson and Will Young.

Emma Bunton cites Janet as one of her biggest inspirations whilst Janet appeared at Divas Live in honour of Aretha Franklin. Janet was also found on the soundtrack to Aida on which she duetted with Elton John, whilst she appeared in a Pepsi Commercial with Ricky Martin. Sir Cliff Richard sung with Janet on Dreamstreet’s “Two To The Power Of Love” and Janet recently appeared live via satellite at the Paul McCartney New York City Benefit Concert. Janet covered Rod Stewart‘s Tonight’s The Night on her 1997 album Velvet Rope, and was also taken on a date to Buckingham Palace (to see the changing of the guard) by British TV presented Dermot O’Leary in April 2001. As well as all this, the concert’s stage designer has helped design several Janet tours. Janet has said how much she admires Mark Fisher who designed the set for the ALL FOR YOU TOUR

The concert will air LIVE in the UK on BBC1 at 8pm om Monday 3 June, whilst in America, an edited version will be hosted by Sharon Osbourne on Saturday 9 June on VH1.
