‘Wardrobe malfuction’ enters UK dictionary

The phrase “wardrobe malfunction” has gone into the dictionary after it was used to describe the moment Janet’s breast was exposed at the Super Bowl.

Credit crunch, postcode lottery, Hips, Wags, fashion forward and nail bars are also among hundreds of new additions to the lastest Chambers English Dictionary.

They join food miles, electrosmog, extraordinary rendition, eco-village, Blu-ray, botnet, matematerial, pad thai and dashi.

Editor Mary O’Neill said: “The new words paint a vivid picture of current interests and concerns.”
