Janet stands with the ‘common-folk’

050906_paris6.jpgJanet was mentioned in The Times today in their diary about Paris Fashion Week. It appears that Janet arrived late for a recent show and because there was a strict rule about latecomers, she stood at the back with everyone else.

After Janet Jackson and her minder (or should we call him man mountain?) trekked around the Balenciaga, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Vivienne Westwood collections on Tuesday they finally arrived at the Dior show although about ten minutes too late. Cue lots of hissing from the photographers as they tried to take their seats while models were coming down the catwalk. Trying to seat them (even at the behest of the chief poncho of security) proved impossible but a smiling Jackson was happy to stand and watch the rest of the show to the delight of the shutter bugs nearby. This ain’t no diva. Perhaps when you’re sharing a room with John Galliano, you can’t compete with the showman par excellence although last night instead of strutting his stuff down the catwalk he actually took a more modest bow.
