There is an article in the February 2004 issue of Ebony Magazine with Janet and J.D. under the title 10 Hottest Couples. In there section it says:

That’s what renowned music producer and Arista Records’ executive Jermaine Dupri and pop princess Janet Jackson say of the rumors that were printed by a major New York newspaper and reprinted and repeated in media around the country. The high-profile celebrity couple did not break up last fall.
Janet did not call it quits while talking with Jermaine on her cell phone. Because the couple was hounded by the media who clamored to know more about what was going on behind closed doors, the two just immersed themselves into their individual career projects (both are busy working on new recordings due out early in 2004). But the romance continues, and when time permitted, they returned to the public spotlight—hand-in-hand, arm-in-arm. According to a close acquaintance of the two:
“Janet and Jermaine are definitely together, and have been for two years. They are in love. They never broke up in the first place.”

I don’t know what the hell Marc is talkin’ ’bout coz I never saw nuttin with Janet sayin’ she was gonna marry nobody, I did see one , one time when she said she didn’t know if she wanted to get married again but she wouldn’t mind bein’ in love, and thats what she is, it gets on my nerves when I see people who don’t know s**t ’bout her tellin her what to do with her life. Honestly, It doesn’t matter what anyone has to say about Miss.Janet and Her man JD. If they are both happy, Who cares what Marc or anyone else has to say about their relationship! There has to be some kind of a connection between them, they both seem happy together and I am happy for them. So everyone needs to STOP trying to put them down and lift them up. That’s whats wrong with the world today! Be happy that they are happy. For ALL those that keep saying that Miss.Janet can do better! I think that she is doing just fine. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think JD is a nice look man. But that’s why Miss.Janet is with him and not us. You all know that if you could be with JD you would so STOP the Haterade. What ever the beef is that people have with them being together you all just need to grill it up and eat or just move on!
