Why Did I Get Married? will be released on DVD in the UK for the first time on August 23rd 2010.

Tyler Perry, who is currently working on Janet’s upcoming movie, Why Did I Get Married Too, has said he is “on no schedule” and will give Janet all the time she needs to come to terms with her brother Michael’s death.

Speaking at the Atlanta Urban League “Spirit of the League” awards luncheon where he was receiving an award, Perry said that Janet will be accommodated “fully and completely, according to whatever she needs.”

He added that Janet’s role in the movie will see her take on “a lot of heavy stuff to play and a lot of demands on her character [therapist and author Patricia Agnew].”

“At this point, I’m on no set schedule,” Perry said. “She’s an amazingly talented woman. I have no doubt, she’ll be up for [the acting challenges in the script].”

“Shooting the first film, there was a bond that formed between all of us,” Perry explained. “Even after the shoot, we’ve kept up with each other and we continue to talk.”

He added: “Janet will have all the love and support we can give her. That’s first and foremost.”

In an interview with Black Voices, Tyler Perry confirmed that he is currently writing a sequel to Why Did I Get Married?. He added that he would only take the project forward if he could reunite the original cast, of which Janet was part.

Why do a sequel to the film?

TP: Because there is so much I want to say. There’s not another film that I have written that I felt like there’s more to say; and there’s more say in ‘Why Did I Get Married Too.’

Will it the same cast or a new group of actors?

TP: It will be the same cast. Everybody. I won’t do it without the original cast.

What’s the storyline?

TP: I can’t talk about it now, but it’s going to be great.

According to E! Online, Janet has been nominated in the Supporting Actress category for the upcoming 39th NAACP Image Awards for her role in Why Did I Get Married? The awards, due to air on Fox on February 14th, also see the film nominated for Outstanding Motion Picture.
