Janet has posted a Twitter update confirming her appearance at this year’s American Music Awards and also saying she’s back in rehearsals:

“I’m back in rehearsals with the kids – getting ready for our performance @ the AMAs!”

Janet will open next week’s American Music Awards with an 8-minute performance featuring a medley of hits, according to the official AMA’s Twitter page.

The awards airs live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on ABC on November 22.

Universal Music and JDJ Entertainment have thrown their weight behind a fan project to organise a flash mob scheduled to hit the streets of Los Angeles on November 14th to support Janet’s upcoming Number Ones release.

Janet has posted an update to her Twitter page in which she confirms she has chosen dancers for her new project.

In two separate updates, Janet wrote:

“I selected some great dancers with Gil this weekend for my new team. Looking forward to working with you guys!”

and

“Thank u to the 150 plus dancers who came out n auditioned.”

So far Janet’s only confirmed public performance is in London on December 6th at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball.

Janet posted on her Twitter late last night that she’s currently in Paris for Fashion Week and a series of meetings.

“Enjoying some time in Paris for Fashion Week n some meetings. It is beautiful here. I love Paris!”

Janet sat in the front row at last night’s farewell to brother Michael Jackson. The King of Pop was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park & Mortuary in Glendale, California.

Following the ceremony, the Jackson family released a statement with their thanks to the pop star’s fans.

After the ceremony the family released a statement: “The Jackson Family wishes to once again thank all of Michael’s fans around the world for their generous outpouring of support during this terribly difficult time. Their expressions of love for Michael and his music have sustained the Jackson Family.”

Janet also recently tweeted on her Twitter page: “I love you, Mike, and I miss you. Dunk.”

In her latest Twitter post, Janet has revealed she will be chairing an event at Milan Fashion Week.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to chairing the @amfAR Milano event this September! I want u guys to check them out n support them any way u can.”

It has since be confirmed by amfAR that she will be chairing the event on September 28th.

In an update to her Twitter page, Janet has revealed she’s presently writing songs for her new project.

In the post she also alludes to her “babies”, also known as her dogs.

Janet’s official website, JanetJackson.com, relaunched last night to reveal a redesigned site featuring  a biography, a discography which incorporates many of  Janet’s music videos, photographs, information about the causes Janet supports and an online store.

It also features links to social networking sites include Facebook, Twitter and a revamped MySpace page.

In an updated biography, the website reveals more information about some of Janet’s upcoming projects:

Later this year, Janet will publish her first book, providing an intimate look at her life and how she has dealt with issues of self-esteem. Janet will reveal aspects not known before about her uniquely successful career not only in music but in television and motion pictures.

The next months and new year will also bring another film starring Janet as she joins Tyler Perry in his sequel, Why Did I Get Married Too, followed by a new album slated to released during the first quarter of 2010.
