Janet headed straight from her set at the Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 Arena in South East London to dinner at Mr Chow’s followed by nightclub Whisky Mist in Mayfair last night. She was in the club with the likes of David Beckham and boyband JLS.

It was announced this morning that Janet is confirmed to perform at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball in London on December 6th, 2009.

The station are also saying that “her performance may just hold a surprise or two!”

The event is being hosted over two nights at London’s O2 Arena, where Janet’s brother Michael was set to perform a string of concerts.

Other artists confirmed to perform on the second night include Ne-Yo, Shakira, JLS and Dizzee Rascal.

It will be Janet’s first public performance in the UK since she appeared on Top of the Pops in 2004.

Tickets for the event sold out in less than an hour, but listeners will be given the chance to win tickets over the course of the next few weeks.

Janet Love has spoken directly to Janet’s official representative Patti Webster asking whether the recent report on MSNBC.com which suggested a “rep” for Janet had spoken to the site – and denied rumours that she would not perform at the O2 in London – was true.

In a short written statement to Janet Love, Patti Webster confirmed:

“None of Janet’s reps have announced anything [regarding an appearance by Janet at the O2]“.

It is not uncommon for some media organisations to simply quote a “rep” or “friend” without using their name when a story has been fabricated.

Janet Love will of course bring you any announcement should one be made regarding Janet’s appearance at any Michael Jackson tribute shows in London.

In an interview with France 2, a French television channel, Jermaine Jackson has given the strongest hint yet that Janet will appear alongside her brothers in a show at London’s O2 Arena on 29th August to celebrate the life of Michael Jackson.

He said: “There has been talk that we are going to do something at the O2 on the 29th with my brothers and also Janet.

“But just know this: there will be never be another Jackson 5.

“We’ll be just The Jacksons, because I feel that Michael played a very, very important part in the Jackson 5 and to do that would not be fair to him. We will tour and he will be with us always.”

Janet Love has exclusively learnt that footage from Michael Jackson’s rehearsals at the Staples Center will be released to the media within an hour.

The footage will be release simultaneously to news and media organisations across the world at 1PM Pacific Time, 4PM Eastern Time and 9PM British Summer Time.

Update: The footage released will only be 1 minute of video that was recorded on June 23rd 2009.

The Sun newspaper is reporting that Janet will fill in for brother Michael at the gigs he was scheduled to perform in London.

A source told The Sun: “Janet has been sounded out about fronting some of the shows.

“A number of discussions have taken place and things are looking hopeful.”

The insider added: “Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon have been approached as well, with the idea that they would perform as the backing band.”

The Sun reports that it is unlikely Janet would do the full run at the O2 – due to start on July 13 and run until next March.

The idea is apparently one of a number of options being worked on by promoters AEG Live, who face huge losses if the shows are scrapped.

Janet Love has learnt that Janet will make a surprise appearance at one or more of brother Michael’s upcoming London concerts.

At a press conference today at London’s O2 Arena, Michael made a guest appearance to announce that he will be playing in the UK in July for 10 shows.

In a press release given to members of the media, it was announced that there would be several very special guests.

Janet Love – at the press conference in London today – was told by a very reliable management source that Janet would be one of those special guests.
