JanetJackson.com, Janet’s official website, has been updated to include a photo of brother Michael along with quotes from the tribute she gave at the recent BET Awards in Los Angeles.

Janet made a surprise appearance at last night’s BET Awards to pay tribute to brother Michael.

In her short speech she said: “My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful, so they elected me to speak with all of you. I’m gonna keep it very short but I’d just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. He will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love. Thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much.”

Her tribute was followed by a performance by Ne-yo and Jamie Foxx.

In an interview with EURweb, Stephen Hill, Executive Vice President of Entertainment and Music Programming at BET, confirmed that Janet will be performing at this year’s BET Awards. The show is due to air live on June 24th at 8pm ET/PT.
